The Sacrament of Reconciliation — also known as the Sacrament of Penance, or Confession — has three elements: contrition, confession and satisfaction. In this sacrament, we find God's unconditional forgiveness and, as a result, we are called to forgive others.
We come to contrition with an examination of conscience. Before we enter the confessional, we pray and think about all the sins we have committed. An examination of conscience helps with this process and when we are ready, we enter the confessional and say our sins. The priest will then give you a penence like three "Hail Marys" or somthing sutiable for what was confessed. That will you lead you to satisfaction a time of celebration.
At St. Gregory's Faith Formation Program, the Sacrament of Reconciliation is first made in 2nd grade. Priest strongly suggest going to the Sacrament of Reconciliation at least once a month, the church requires that one should go at least once a year.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is held on Fridays from 4-6 p.m. in the Chapel.
